David Mays is a professional landscape / fine arts photographer. His work has been featured at “Art On The Hill” an annual art show in Mantua Ohio and at “Art on Main” an annual art show in Ravenna Ohio. David's photography has also been displayed at The Kent Free Library in Kent Ohio. He has always been able to find beauty in his own backyard and specializes in capturing high quality digital photos of his home state of Ohio. David's fine art prints combine high quality photography with vivid colors, unique perspectives and an artistic eye for detail.
David has loved taking pictures ever since he was young and received a Polaroid Swinger model 20 land camera for Christmas. He started out taking shots of his favorite Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels before moving onto photos of family, friends and Patty his boyhood Irish Setter.
When David moved to Anchorage Alaska to attend his junior year in high school, his brother Denny re-kindled David's love for photography. Denny loaned David his 35mm Minolta and Nikon cameras so he could take photography classes at school. There David not only learned color photography but also learned the old school art of developing and enlarging his own black and white photographs in a dark room with safe lights, chemicals and a Beseler enlarger.
David began digital photography by capturing product shots for Ebay items he was selling at the time. He started with a 6 megapixel Fuji Finepix camera. At the suggestion of his longtime girlfriend Kathy he began taking landscape and floral photos, classic car photos as well as black and white images. He now shoots with a Nikon D5200.
